(210) 468-7871 coachrustynokes@gmail.com rusty.nokes@arcstofreedom.com Hi there. My name is Rusty Nokes. I have a bachelors in Business Administration from Harding University and have held several fitness certifications (Certified Fitness Trainer / Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist - ISSA International Sports Sciences Association).
I am also the published author of a book addressing the fusion of spiritual and physical fitness. Along with a fitness business, I have also owned and operated a couple other successful small businesses --- a coffee shop and a trucking company. I have had a few “jobs” over the years from law enforcement to cowboy, but it wasn’t until I began my recovery journey and found ARCS that I decided what I truly want to do with the rest of my life. I am a survivor of childhood trauma. My parents modeled abuse (emotional, verbal, physical), addiction (drugs, alcohol, porn), abandonment, and adultery. It left me with heart wounds that I later learned to medicate with drugs, alcohol, porn and sex. After 2 failed marriages, 30+ years in addiction, and trying and failing in my own strength --- I finally found freedom. Fellowship and community were crucial for me to break free, and they will be for you too. That is why I became a CARC and an ARCS professor. I want to help others get into community and start their healing journey. My Coaching Style: I recognize and emphasize the understanding of how a traumatic experience --- or a set of experiences --- can impact a person’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. I can help you to draw connections between your traumatic life experiences and your emotional and behavioral responses. I can offer you skills and strategies that assist you in better understanding, coping with, and processing emotions and memories that tied to traumatic experiences --- with the end goal of enabling you to create a healthier and more adaptive meaning of the experience. I believe that different resources work for each individual, so I offer an interdisciplinary range of approaches. My Coaching Philosophy: I truly value and honor the relationship between coach and client because it is an agent for change and healing. I believe in empowering my clients, and I tailor my techniques and interventions with each individual. I will collaborate with you to make meaning of your experiences and, then, to help you to move forward on your journey from surviving --- to thriving. I believe that most want to overcome their problems, but often just do not know how. My goal is to help you to discover you heart wounds, triggers and pathways that are causing issues and preventing you from getting where you want to be. I can help you to "break down" problems, finding the root and source of where and why any disconnection exists. I'm are always mindful of the importance of how mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual health interplay with our functioning as human beings. My passion is helping you on your journey to becoming your "best self", by providing you with resources to thrive and grow. I look forward to meeting you. |
