I was born to two loving, but separated parents in the 80s, and raised by my family and “the community”. I was instilled with the values of those much older than me. As are most southerners, I was instilled with the values of God through the faith of Christianity by way of a Baptist Church, but I respect all faiths and belief systems. At a very early age, I wanted to become a “brain surgeon” --- but I'll elaborate on that later. Due to monetary issues, I was moved all throughout my resident city and surrounding counties --- making instability my norm. Not a stranger to pain, anguish and disappointment, at a young age I lost many members of my family whom I loved dearly. As a teen, I embarked on a path of destruction. I began drinking hard liquor, indulging in drugs and various other unlawful things. This was after having been introduced to hardcore porn, but around the same time of becoming sexually active --- which, after a short relationship, led to a lifestyle of promiscuity. Always trying to be a leader and “trendsetter”, I was “wise” enough to join the Armed Forces at the age of seventeen. Though intelligent, my grades in high school were not strong enough to earn me a scholarship, so the U.S. Army seemed to be the next best thing to achieving more in life. My addictive mindset and decisions led me to jail and to the hospital, on numerous occasions, due to my excessive alcohol and drug abuse. The same actions, associations, and environments also led to my experiences of almost meeting death on multiple occasions --- from car crashes to being shot at multiple times by other misled, angry and confused youth. In the early 2000’s, I went on my first overseas tour and earned Veterans status. This was followed by a second tour. During this time frame, some of my closest associates either received extensive prison sentences or were killed. Returning to the states, but back to the same old lifestyle, things took a turn for the worst --- yet also the better. In the fall of 2008, yet again, I had a run in with the authorities. Covered by Grace and shown Mercy yet again, I miraculously received a “slap on the wrist” (given the circumstances). This time, it lead to a true mindset change. With a new outlook on life, and a changed spirit and mind, I embarked on a journey to right my wrongs and to reach those who are where I once was. Though I have done many a wrong, I have also accomplished many positive things. In addition to serving my country on two separate tours and receiving certificates, awards, and other accolades for such service, I've also become a certified massage therapist, and I've acquired my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration! I'm also an inspirational rapper and the author of several books. Essentially, I seek to utilize all of my talents to affect the lives of those that I'm called toward, and I find myself called to “work with people’s minds”. The irony is not lost on me, that helping people with transcend their life's difficulties is a form of "brain surgery". So, I've now become a Certified Addiction and Abuse Recovery Coach, in my effort to impact and empower those who are suffering. My practice style is one of searching our lives, to find the ROOT. What has led one to the current situation? We can discuss symptoms and the everyday struggles. Nonetheless, finding the root, and putting together a plan to get to the desired result as fast as possible is the goal. This is done through relaxed conversation and active listening. You'll find me posing comfortable, yet depth-filled questions. Tell me your story. I want to know and understand what you've lived through. And Laughter is always healing, so my down-to-earth and often comedic approach to life’s issues is usually welcomed with open arms by my clients and students. I find that light heartedness can be an easy way to “soften the blow” of the reality that we’re dealing with. I can help you navigate and traverse the relationships in your life, starting with the relationship with yourself --- and extending outward from there. |
